S/O to @tannazzhp for this #truthbomb .. This idea that what we find most annoying in others is really an indicator of what we find (unconsciously) most annoying in ourselves is a powerful one.
Jung called it our “shadow” and said: “Unfortunately there can be no doubt that man is, on the whole, less good than he imagines himself or wants to be. Everyone carries a Shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is. If an inferiority is conscious, one always has a chance to correct it. Furthermore, it is constantly in contact with other interests, so that it is continually subjected to modifications. But if it is repressed and isolated from consciousness, it never gets corrected and is liable to burst forth suddenly in a moment of unawareness. At all events, it forms an unconscious snag, thwarting our most well-meant intentions.”
The fastest way to identify our shadow?
Take a look at what bothers you in other people.
S/O to @lizdialto for this amazing insight —>Movement is the most underrated path towards freedom.
Over the past 2 years I have chosen being busy over movement. I have gained 20 pounds, battled with having lower energy, higher cholesterol, and not feeling my best.
Over the past month I have taken on bicycling to and from work. This activity is quickly becoming one of the activities I am most excited by and look forward to. Bicycling is an aerobic exercise (‘with oxygen’) which I literally feel strengthening my cardiovascular system, improving blood flow and therefore oxygen to my body and brain. As a result of this new found oxygen flow I have felt increasingly more alert and aware.
Inspired by @amberrae and the #100daysofmovement I am publicly committing to moving everyday for the next 100 days. My intention is to use the #100daysofmovement to create a lifelong ritual of taking time everyday to do the one thing that I know will have the greatest impact on my mind, body, and life— Movement! Join me!!!!
It is inspiring to see amazing women pushing the world forward with their power create, nurture, and transform from the heart. @heyamberrae @theashleygraham @dlstyleny @rachel I am looking forward to the magic from this threesome. #powerwomen
